CLINICAL OFFICERS COUNCIL CHAIR LEAVES PUBLIC SERVICE

Sunday, June 30th 2019 will remain in the hearts of clinical officers around Kenya as well as the man who served as the Executive chairman of Clinical Officers Council (COC).

Mr Mutinda has left public service after he served it for 35 years.

His request to clinical officers as he leaves is for them to safeguard what he terms as the two main achievements for clinical officers. These are: Clinical Officers Act and Professional development and career pathway.

Various stakeholders commended his good work and wished him good luck. A special message from Kenya Clinical Officers Association was:

 "Mr. Mutinda has left the Public Service after 35 years! He served in different capacities, latest being the of the . He did a marvelous job during his time at the council and we really appreciate his sober Leadership & Services. We wish him all the best. God bless."

MEET DR GIKONYO, CEO OF THE KAREN HOSPITAL WHICH IS WORTH KSHS 1 BILLION

DR BETTY GIKONYO- THE KAREN HOSPITAL Compiled by: Suleiman Ndoro Jnr (Dr Audi) She was born on May 27, 1950 in the village of Kiamabara near Karatina town in Nyeri County during the Mau Mau revolution. She came from the typical village where they lived in communal huts which were occupied by five or six families. She recalls being treated for chickenpox with ash and mud from an anthill which was the common practice then. She started her primary education at the age of six when she qualified for school. This was when she was able to reach her arm over the head to touch her ears. This was during the times when there were no birth certificates and touching your ear suggested physical growth. That was the criteria for joining school. Like other village children, Betty braved the barefoot walks to and fro school and recalls that the classrooms were mud thatched, window frames had no glass panes, and the wall partitions were broken at ceiling level. EXAMINATIONS: CLINICAL OFFICERS COUNCIL (COC) EXAMS

EXAMINATIONS CLINICAL OFFICERS COUNCIL (COC) SEPTEMBER EXAM The Clinical officers council  (COC) examinations for clinical medicine students across the country will be done on 11th and 12th September, 2018. The exam rehearsals will be done on 11th September 2018 and the examination will be done on the next day. The payment for the exams is Kshs 5,000 which are to be paid via MPESA. The deadline of the application and payment is 31st August 2018 and payment during examination dates will not be allowed.  The applications are to be done online via the portal after online registration. https://portal.clinicalofficerscouncil.org/practice/register
