COUNTY NEWS
The County with the highest malnutrition rate in Kenya

While the national rate of malnutrition of Kenya being 35 per cent, the malnutrition rate of Kapenguria County is at 45.9 per cent. This makes it the county with the highest malnutrition rate in Kenya. This is according to Demographic Health Report 2014.
The Ministry of Health statistics indicate that Kapenguria District Hospital receives 70 to 100 malnourished children every month.
Women in the county blame idle men for the rise in malnutrition. Women are left with the burden of providing for the family while the men are away sitting under trees. This leaves women burdened with domestic and other chores hence left with little time to look for food.
