Yes! It's Friday and for the first time Medwax Media Group is here to present Friday Best Hospitals (FBH) which is a program to name 3 best performing hospitals in the world.

These hospitals are named locally, regionally and the world at large. This means that every Friday, Medwax Media Group will be naming a hospital in Kenya, one in Africa and another one outside Africa.

The aim of this program is to create awareness of the hospitals existing in the world and to inspire those who would want to be medico-preneurs and build big hospitals that would be competing universally.
So let's get started.

1. DIANI BEACH HOSPITAL - KENYA
Diani Beach Hospital is a private hospital found in South Coast of Kenya on the north side of Diani Strip just beyond Leisure Golf Club. With over 15 years of experience, Diani Beach Hospital is the pioneer in healthcare in the South Coast region.


It has state-of-the-art ICU and advanced cardiac care ambulance with other facilities like outstanding laboratory and imaging services, dental and physiotherapy departments, minor and major theatres, 24 hour doctors on call and in-patient services.




2. NETCARE GROUP- SOUTH AFRICA
Netcare is the largest provider of healthcare in South Africa and United Kingdom. It offers world class hospital services and offers primary healthcare, occupational health, employee wellness services and emergency medical services. It is a South African health care hospital that was founded in 1996.
 The group has 116 hospitals and 90 primary healthcare facilities and has close to 29000 employees. It has a capacity of over 13000 beds, 88 retail pharmacies, 59 renal dialysis stations 7 netcare training campuses and 85 netcare emergency bases.

The netcare oncology and interventional center located at NI city in cape town. It consists of several departments including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, nuclear medicine and a bone marrow transplant and robotic-assisted surgery

3. CLEVELAND CLINIC

It is multispecialty academic hospital in Ohio which is owned by Cleveland Clinic foundation. Its flagship hospital is in Cleveland but also operates in Nevada, Florida, Canada and the United Arab Emirates.

MEET DR GIKONYO, CEO OF THE KAREN HOSPITAL WHICH IS WORTH KSHS 1 BILLION

DR BETTY GIKONYO- THE KAREN HOSPITAL Compiled by: Suleiman Ndoro Jnr (Dr Audi) She was born on May 27, 1950 in the village of Kiamabara near Karatina town in Nyeri County during the Mau Mau revolution. She came from the typical village where they lived in communal huts which were occupied by five or six families. She recalls being treated for chickenpox with ash and mud from an anthill which was the common practice then. She started her primary education at the age of six when she qualified for school. This was when she was able to reach her arm over the head to touch her ears. This was during the times when there were no birth certificates and touching your ear suggested physical growth. That was the criteria for joining school. EXAMINATIONS: CLINICAL OFFICERS COUNCIL (COC) EXAMS

EXAMINATIONS CLINICAL OFFICERS COUNCIL (COC) SEPTEMBER EXAM The Clinical officers council  (COC) examinations for clinical medicine students across the country will be done on 11th and 12th September, 2018. The exam rehearsals will be done on 11th September 2018 and the examination will be done on the next day. The payment for the exams is Kshs 5,000 which are to be paid via MPESA. The deadline of the application and payment is 31st August 2018 and payment during examination dates will not be allowed.  The applications are to be done online via the portal after online registration. https://portal.clinicalofficerscouncil.org/practice/register
