WHY ARE THE DOCTORS NOT TELLING ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?

WHY ARE THE DOCTORS NOT TELLING ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? SULEIMAN NDORO JNR (DR AUDI) It is exactly 72 hours since I was put in this bed. I miss my home. I miss my husband. I miss my kitchen. I miss my clothes. I miss everything. I have been confined in this bed like a prisoner. I have been forced   to wear a piece of cloth that makes me feel naked. I even feel ashamed walking in this cloth. The food is something I even don’t want to recall. The feelings of nausea and inhibition are killing me slowly. This hospital is making me sicker than how I even came. The fact that I do not know what I am suffering from makes me more ill. I know the question that is running in your mind now. “What exactly brought this lady to the hospital?” Three days prior to my admission, my husband had refused coming home for two days. It was really killing me and then I thought of something. What if I faked an illness? I’m sure he’l come here running .   W...

Image
REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH MEN'S HEALTH: The sex style responsible for penile fracture A study that was published in the journal of Advances in Urology concluded that the “woman on top” position was the potentially riskiest sex position that caused the most penile fractures. The study explained, “our hypothesis is that when the woman is on top she usually controls the movement with her entire body weight landing on the erect penis, not being able to interrupt it when the penis suffers a wrong way penetration, because the harm is usually minor in woman with no pain but major in the penis." HOW WOULD YOU KNOW YOU HAVE A PENILE FRACTURE A penile fracture is an emergency medical condition that can lead to long-lasting damage to a man’s sexual and urinary function but is a rare and alarming injury that may occur during sexual intercourse. It is usually a rupture in the two areas of the penis that are responsible for erections: the corpora cavernosa and the penile ...

My first days of nursing clinical rotations

Image
NURSING MY FIRST DAYS OF MY NURSING CLINICAL ROTATIONS BY: LUCY KAMUNYA (BSC NURSING, JKUAT) At some point in my Nursing curriculum, I have had the chance to rotate in the medical and surgical ward. I wasn’t sure I was going to make it there because the students from the senior class hinted to us how smelly the wards can be. By the time I was going for my rotations I had already hated the hospital. But all in all the rotation was a must.  On our first day we were taken around for some orientation. I started covering my nose from a distance (it was the most stupid move)….we got into the wards and as we went round I saw a lot of people who were different in every aspect, be it age, sex, height, weight and a background. But these people had one thing in common, they were all sick.  Their illnesses weren’t the same but the common thing was that: they were not feeling well. I really felt ashamed for covering my nose. All I could see in their eyes was love. They...

Image
MY UNHEALTHY FAMILY SULEIMAN NDORO JNR (DR AUDI) I am scared. I checked the definition of health according to the World Health Organization and I got scared. Everyone in my family is unhealthy. The World Health Organization (WHO) defined health in its broader sense in its 1948 constitution as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” The truth is that no one has a chronic illness in my family. There’s no one with a malignancy or a non-communicable chronic disease. Physical well being is the most visible of all visible of all dimensions of health. It is crystal clear to me of how my family members are physically unhealthy. The absence of physical health is contributing to my family being mentally and socially unhealthy. My family is unhealthy. I know you are asking how? Let me start with my father. My father is a very busy county government employee. He works and overworks a lot. He never gets ...
